So I Have a White 98 Std with 140K miles, bought it @ 15 years ago with 44K miles (second owner) and loved it's reliability and looks with it's tinted windows and shell. Always kept clean and maintained if engine oil had 3025 miles of use on it you know it was changed ,even if I had to change it at work on my break. Love my lil Toy.

Now here's my situation / question.... my girlfriend was driving and rear ended another car ( ok full coverage ins) radiator was pushed into fan, (coolant leaked out due to accident) still starts and can run, driven onto and off of flatbed. However while engine is/was running the steering wheel will jerk back and forth (clockwise/counter clockwise)(right to left)(east to west) you know what I mean?

So what do you think is causing this? I'm thinking the belt for the power steering pump is slipping due to the friction and not giving the steering unit constant power/pressure. Or is there more that I'm not seeing?

Please enlighten me with your insight and thank you in advance.......Pickles

Remove the drivebelt. That would be the easiest way to see if it's a pump issue.
Obviously. don't run it too long. The cooling fan or water pump wont be running.
