Hey everyone, I have purchased a DIY kit from SRQ/ True North Fab. Upon father inspection I had noticed that the wing tubes had flat spots on the outside of the bend on all the tubes. I have reached out to the manufacturer and they said that’s the way they are supposed to be. I am just reaching out for other peoples opinions and or experiences.

The flat spots are from the tubing bender. All pipe bent in a tubing bender will have those flat spots.

Pipe/tubing not bent on a mandrel bender will have flat spots and dimples. Perfectly normal.

While it is true that die bent tube is not as round as mandrel, this is not normal.

their die is probably aluminum and worn out and needs to be changed to a new die. This is exactly what it looks like when it needs to be changed.

or they used the wrong size to bend it.
