Seemingly Laggy Gear Shifting In 2nd Gen Auto Trans

    I just wanted to hopefully give some knowledge or info to others out there. Recently had my 2007 base model tacoma access cab go through some very weird shifting problems. I would begin merging onto the highway on-ramp and it would rev to 2nd gear and get stuck in that 20-30mph mark for a few seconds, then kick up into higher gears and run smooth after that at highway speeds.

    Happened a couple times. Ended up flushing trans fluid and seemed to work for now. However got a quote for a new trans from dealer, woulda been $5600!!
