Was driving my granddaughter home today as I turned into her complex my truck just shutoff.
I coasted to her house and it started right back up again. Went and got gas went to the store and it was fine. No lights on the dash and it seems fine. Any idea what might have caused it?.

also wouldn't hurt to check/clean your battery terminals.

It’s good that your truck started right back up and there are no warning lights, but that random shutdown could indicate a few things. Here are a couple of possibilities:

    1. Fuel delivery issue: Could be a momentary fuel pump or fuel filter issue, especially if you were low on gas before filling up.
    2. Electrical problem: A loose battery connection or ground wire could cause the truck to shut off randomly.
    3. Crankshaft position sensor: If this sensor is starting to fail, it can cause the engine to cut out briefly and restart without throwing a code.
    4. Ignition switch: On older vehicles, a worn ignition switch can cause intermittent issues like this.
Did you notice anything unusual before it shut off? Also, has it happened again since that first time? That could help narrow it down.

    1. Had the fuel pump and housing assembly replaced last year al though I don't recall the filter being replaced. I always get gas at 1/4 tank.
    2. had cleaned the battery posts the week prior, everything is clean and tight. I could check for a loose ground though.
    3. Not sure about this one. Anyway to check this one.?
    4. Well it is an older vehicle.
Nothing unusual before it happened truck was running fine and no it has not happened again.
    5. It was a little strange.

Corrosion on the battery terminals is one cause. Another is corrosion on the cable itself, hiding under the insulation. Or breaks in the battery cables that are bumped out of alignment by turning, then fall back into place.

    Another possibility.
