Beep is gone for lock/unlock. I'll need to evaluate that, maybe reinsert that buzzer for that reason, although it is so annoying when I got it running and forget something sitting in the kitchen that I need to retreive.:rolleyes:20241003_161737.jpg

I wasn't aware it was an issue with factory suspension. I know Accutune makes brackets for the fox elite 2.5's for this reason.

I have wanted to incorporate the pipe/stick idea into a "wing out awning" that included bug netting.

Some thing to add "air" on warm evenings and nights if "camping out" means sleeping in the back of the truck.

I've yet to come up with a bug net solution better than draping the entire topper and tail gate.

Of course I replaced it with 50 lbs of 3/16" steel under the gas tank, but who's counting?

    This and that
I had a similar thought in covering the whole truck while camping, for heat reflection. But then again I was camping and just thinking too much. It would be fairly easy to throw a net over the whole truck

I've ran Bilstein 5100s on my second gen & the 6112s on my third gen for years and I would say that the ride quality is same. The 6112s come from Bilstein with a 600 lb spring, which is either the same or nearly the same as factory on third gens, so they should ride more or less the same. Bilstein valves all of their shocks specifically for each vehicle and have done tons of testing to ensure they perform optimally for that vehicle, in our case, a 3rd gen tacoma. I would say that the valving in the shock is a bit more "spirited" than factory, but is by no means harsh. I would highly recommend the 6112s - I think they are one of the best bang for your buck front suspensions out there for the Tacoma.

Bilstein produces a podcast that talks through a lot of their shocks + other suspension / off-road topics. Here is one specifically on the 6112s if you're interested in learning more. It's very educational.
