What’s a good option for diverting air ? Not finding any decent T valve options. Essentially I want an easy way to change from straight to the compressor or from the tank. Feel like there’s somethin out there and I’m just blanking on it Lol

 

3-way valve, $20 brass manual, ~$65 motorized. Most just seem to run air to a manifold and control where it goes from there

 

Idk if anyone has done this with the small compressor tank off Amazon. But I put it in the bumper corner just to run my fire truck horn lol

 

ARB Harness troubleshooting help-

Just installed an ARB dual compressor. Wired all up. Went to test and have the following issue:

Neither switch 1 or 2 are getting power to them - they are illuminating. So when I turn them on, solenoids don't do anything. I know switch 1 needs to be powered on before switch 2 will.

Isolation switch works and is getting power/illuminating.

I am seeing power coming to the plug-in fitting, fwiw. Any thoughts?

Finally got around to plumbing my ARB Twin out of the engine bay and into the front bumper, although I still need to get a dust cover for the quick connect. I'll probably relocate the air filters to the cowl at some point, too.

 

A rubber chair foot works well

 

Already ordered a four pack and will probably try and make some sort of tether for it with thin wire. That being said, it's odd that nobody seems to make a tethered cap that locks into I/M-type couplers, considering how common they are for A and KV-type couplers.

 

I thought there was one many pages back but too spendy for me when a diy is so easy.

compressor under my tonneau cover in the bed of my truck but I also want to be able to move it quickly during the few times that I need to use the entire bed of my truck. My plan is to cut the wires with the alligator clips on the compressor and replace them with these

wires to connect to my battery and run them through a hole I have in my truck bed to allow me to connect the quick connectors. Will this work?

 

If the 90A input current is correct you should definitely upgrade the wiring for the longer run. I don’t think it’s adequate even as is. You’re looking at 10’ or more depending on location. #10 awg is good for maybe 30A at that distance. #4 awg is more suitable or a location that allows for shorter cables with longer hoses but you’ll still need fatter cables no matter where it goes. Look up DC amps vs length for charts that can provide details

 

I have to agree with Bagleboy in the fact that these wires will not hold up to the task of running this compressor.

1/4” air line and made custom lengths bc my air compressor is in the bed, then I have air chucks on both ends of the truck, an air pressure gauge in the a-pilar and a separate line going to my air locker. I got a bunch of the

$9 Viair 92951 1/8" Male NPT to 1/4" Compression Fitting for 1/4" Air Line, Brass

viair compression fittings at the ends of each line.

You’ll want to do something similar because you’ll want as little airline as possible. Any fixed length air hose will have extra hose that you’ll have to roll up and hide somewhere, and it’ll take longer to fill anything up. Plus air hoses usually have a ID larger than 1/4”

 

I found that PTC connectors were prone to leaking over time which isn’t a big deal for filling tires since the amount is pretty small but can be more troublesome for things like air bags that need to hold air for months. After switching over to compressed fitting like yours it’s not an issue at all and doesn’t require finicky cutting, just slide the nut and ferrule over the tubing, push in the brass insert sleeve, and tighten. Easily remove able with no damage to the tubing.
