    4 cables nicked, nothing completely cut. The smallest gauge wire was missing so much copper that I opted to cut it and solder in a bit of wire patch and heat shrink it.

    Still really really mad at myself.

    quite a job, you got yourself into quite a goat rope by just drilling a hole, LOL
    something it would do, no LOL

    Glad it wasn't more serious.

    A trick that works well in these situations is to place a socket or 2 over the drill bit, fine-tuning its total length with some washers if needed. This lets the end of the bit punch through without the whole thing entering and damaging things behind the panel you're drilling.
