I have owned several tacomas in the past. Currently have a 2006 4x4 but am going to go back to a first gen.
Just found a 2004 Access cab 4x4 manual which is my favorite. It is in GREAT shape one owner elderly gentleman with 160k mileage. Only thing is it is white- and I don’t like white at all. And paint is not in great shape like most white ones. So I have decided to have it painted the Tacoma silver. I am going to disassemble all of the body parts and take to my guy to get it done right. Remover fenders, bed. Door. Good. All window trim bumpers etc. I am going to remove all of the inside including headliner carpet etc to soundproof it and put heavier carpet in it.
Question is while doing this and have it disassembled is there anything else I should address? Frame is in great shape as is the entire underside but I want to treat it and figure doi it while bed is off. I have heard woolwax is the best thing for it. But also have heard painting it with the Eastwood rust prohibitor inside and out is best? Any advice?
Any thing lease that would be rector any pitfalls to avoid while disassembling?

Simpler question may have been what are things that I may want to address while bed and fenders are off?
