    Hello Everyone,

I'm not sure if any of you have seen a 2000 tacoma v6 3.4L manual transmission truck with two brake fluid. Currently on my truck, the small reservoir is empty and I'm not sure if I should be worried or not since the big reservoir is between min and max. I attached a picture. Should I top off the small reservoir?

    small is clutch
    big is brake

I would top off the clutch and figure out what happened to the fluid. The fluid is not consumable. Use DOT3 or 4, just not 5.

Fill your clutch master cylinder (the small reservoir) and bleed it at the slave cylinder (attached to the transmission bellhousing). Use DOT 3 or 4.

Your brake fluid (the big reservoir) looks black, which means it’s full of moisture (brake fluid absorbs water out of the air). Suck all the old stuff out and refill the reservoir with the same DOT 3 or 4, then bleed your brakes all the way around until clean fluid comes out.

Yes, although you will probably need more than that to refill both reservoirs and bleed both systems.

I refilled the small reservoir. I notice an issue with the clutch now. It is a bit soft when pressing it. Sometimes it stuck depressed.

Sounds like one of your cylinders is on its way out.

I had the same symptoms and it got worse. I swapped out the slave first since it was cheaper. Didn’t fix the issue.

I replaced the clutch master cylinder and it was fixed.

Thanks guys. I replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder and that fixed the issue.
