Seems TW has an unusually high rate of post regaurding carrier bearing issues. Alot seem to revolve around faulty aftermarket carrier bearings along with alignment and or balance issues. Dorman and other aftermarket bearings seem key probem parts (probably all are just relabled china junk) while lack of understanding of 2 piece shaft "timing" is another problem.

Isn't there a one piece replacement shaft out there? If so is there any legitimate reasons why not going to a one piece? I mean there has got to be a single shaft replacement out there.

I understand a properly timed and constructed 2 piece shaft will benifit smoothness and possibly minimally help clearance but at an obvious $ and driveability cost.

In my past wrenching years I've done considerable ujoint and driveshaft work/repair. Its got me thinking about a past repair of a heavy duty double u-joint (on each end) single shaft. The purpose was to lessen the tight angle bind by splitting the difference. For the life of me I cant recall the vehicle application. This would be a great one piece replacement 4x4 option.

My OR has a one-piece drive line. My 2016 had a two-piece and went 117,000 without any issues.
