I have these in a 255/75/17 and I've been quite happy with them, they're also 40lbs in this size

I have about 8-9k no complaints so far rides nice for a E rated tire with a little more piece of mind from a tougher tire. Its not the quietest tire but not roaring loud either. These are slightly louder than my previous 265/75/16 cooper at3 4s but that was an SL, being a 4 banger power and mpg picked up from the coopers and it was only 1lb difference. The more narrow tire at the same height rolls easier for sure.

What type of trimming and heat gun work did you have to do to make this work? Any other issues arise? I have the same wheel specs, but I'm running Fox 2.0's with around 1.4" of lift up front. I'm just wondering if I would run into any rubbing issues.

Just picked up a set of Geos in 255. Near identical diameter as my 295's (rear tire for comparison).

Needed some new tires, so decided to try out the cutters. Very happy so far. Went from 285-75-16 duratracs to 255-85-16 AT4Ws. They look better than I was expecting.PXL_20240917_210552417 - Copy.jpg PXL_20240917_210535783.MP - Copy.jpg

Nice write up! Truck looks great. If you’re willing to move up to a 17 inch wheel, the Toyo open country R/T trails are 52 pounds a piece. Solid tire.

    I have a 2nd Gen AC with a 2" OME lift and Icon UCA and OME rear 2" lift. I have a 4cyl, 5-speed.
    I have stock 16" wheels.

I'm thinking about getting some Cooper ST Maxx in 255/85r16s but am also considering getting some nice 5-star bronze wheels still in 16". I'm a newbie when it comes to offsets etc. I don't want to go to a big wide stance, but if I can knock out some tire rubbing easily with a new wheel size, with the 33" Coopers, I'd seriously consider it buying new wheels too.

What wheels / offset should I be looking for? Sorry if I missed the details!

    Thank you

Finally got some real miles on them. Overall very happy. They are a few pounds heavier that the old duratracs and you can feel it. Turning is lighter and more responsive, wet traction has been fantastic. The duratracs still had a lot of life in them but anytime the roads were wet they became super sketchy. The back end broke loose in 3rd trying to pass a slowwwww driver and it slid out enough to make me pucker and get the attention of the people behind me. Mileage between the 2 stayed pretty much the same, maybe slightly worse with these tires since they are heavier. They tow really nice, but you can feel that extra weight.

    Run it. No regerts.

You may have some minor plastic trimming to do, or remove/modify your front mud flaps if you have any. I’ve run that tire/wheel spec on a previous taco with ~2” of lift. I only had to trim the mud flaps.

Thanks, I built it during covid so parts were limited. That's the 4WP bumper and carrier.
