From the CB side I am thinking about driving up Pearl Pass and then cutting over to Taylor Reservoir and back starting Saturday morning -- if anyone is in the area and wants to partner up let me know. I went only about 7 miles in last week and want to try to kill the day Saturday enjoying the sights.

That’s a prime day for mountain biking! Enjoy the trip. There’s like a 2% chance I’ll be out to CB this weekend, but it will be with the RAV4 and I’ll be on my mtb.

How spicy is Pearl Pass road up to the Montezuma mine/basin? I'm thinking of driving up next week to climb Castle, but I'm not from the area and don't want to get in over my head since I'll be solo. I suppose I could also park down around 11.200'? I read that there is a turnout there as well.

I'm running a '19 TRD Sport, DCLB, running 6112/5160, Icon RXT, 265/65/17 Toyo Open Country A/T III, some rock sliders and the RCI skid plate.

    -Cheers

Thanks but that site is pay walled. I’m not really asking for beta on Pearl Pass, more for the Montezuma Basin road. I understand there are a few off camber sections, curious how treacherous they are.

Following the suggestion of a local @ME OFF Rd and I did Pearl Pass while we were out there last year. Loved it!

FWIW OnX has pearl 6/10 and montezuma as 4/10 -- I haven't done either but am still planning on driving up Pearl tomorrow morning and may cut off wherever looks good.

Nice! Looks amazing out there. Still have yet to get out to CB for anything. Headed to either Junction or Salida next month, but it will be all MTB. Don't think my buddy's Caddy can tag along up the mountains!
