I mowed Friday and it already needs it again. Crazy for October.

 

Yea it took me twice as long to mow mine. Had to switch blades to try and get finer clippings as it looked like I mowed a hay field ready to bail hay

 

Cole and I put the vacuum on one mower, I used it since the leaves are falling. Looked great for 2 hours but takes longer cause having to go dump.

 

I had the bright notion to put the mulching blades on and blocker on to try and get everything all chopped up fine. Just was too much and was making a racket and bogging down which is impressive as I've never bogged the Kohler Twin yet. Pulled off the blocker and just mowed over everything a bunch of times

 

I need to get some mulching blades for the one with the vac. Would help me to not dump as often.

 

I'm conflicted on the ones I posted buying a couple weeks ago. I'll have to see when there isn't so many clippings, but so far not impressed. Regular mulching blades never did that to me before even in some seriously thick stuff.

 

Did you sharpen them before putting them on?

 

No, they had a decent edge on them already. I think it's the design of them. I mainly bought them to chop the leaves finer than the ones I had.

 

Try raising you deck. Sometimes too much clippings is too much if you don’t have the hp to run them. My gators had a thick coat of powder coat on them and complained about the cut quality till someone told me to grind it off on the cutting edge. I was surprised how much better they cut with just that little touch up

 

So from the other day ... Are you guys running G5s or G6s?

What's really the difference?

 

The G5’s are a lighter homeowner version of the heavier G6 commercial gators. The OEM 60D blades are in between. Basically the G5 is good for gas powered GT’s while the G6 is used on the diesel tractors and high hp zero turns.

 

Have a trailer electrical issue. I went to hook up the flatbed for the annual inspection and no lights. Truck says brake control connected but doesn’t register the trailer plugged in. Battery is charging through the 7pin.
Odd event the last year is when the truck is off, the trailer lights still flicker.
I put a circuit tester on the pins and the 12v is hot while others blink as if the turn signals are on. No solid light when brakes are pressed.
Checked all fuses and all are good. going to try another vehicle tonight to see if it’s a trailer or truck issue.

 

I suspect ground. If you can find/have a trailer that you know the lights work on hook it up. Eliminate the truck as an issue.

What chainsaw should I buy for cutting up medium size trees that came down during Helene. I want something that has a good power to weight ratio and with a 18-20" bar. I want a quality saw that will last me a long time.

Iike this little jewel. I just used it today. Last time I used it was a year ago. I really expected it to give me static, but it started like it's supposed to.

Full choke, four, pulls, hickups, half choke, 2 pulls and it's running normal, choke full off.

Runs normal at full power.

 

Nice saw but a bit more than Incan afford right now
