To help to carry on the tradition of spending money.
This past weekend the topic of solar generators was brought up.
Amazon Prime Days is offering some good sales as well as on the Manufacturers website.
    This is just 2 examples.
    Other Manufacturers are offering sales.
    Not endorsing any brand.
Videos do have helpful info to help decide what you may need.
The Hobotech coupon codes do work.

This past weekend, "How fast can one go in 4LO" was brought up, as well.
    I can confidently answer 45mph.
    DO NOT EXCEED 45mph!
    :D

It will be interesting to see if you can find what potentially failed. I wouldn’t expect a transfer case would be damaged by going 45mph, but thats only because I would think toyota’s 5th gear lockout in 4lo would keep gear speeds safe up to the rev limiter. That’s just a guess though. I suppose shock loads get potentially violent with high speed and throttle changes.

Looking forward to see what falls out of the transfer case when you drain the oil!:p

This is unchartered ground, to me.
I'm not real familiar with all the inner workings but I can locate problems and fix them.
I'll be a transfer case pro by the time I'm done.

    Well, now, see.
If I would've had one of those reminders, this never would've happened.

(but I did drive it home. :D)

@OldSchlPunk checked off the Needles Highway, definitely a nice drive. More tourists out today for sure, don’t realize how nice I had it on Monday and Tuesday. Still worth it because we definitely don’t have things like this back home.

Gonna swap in the used one and fix the broken one for a spare?

    Sounds like a good plan.
For the $25 core charge, I'd hang onto it for the actuator or just leave it sit under my workbench like @McSpazatron :D

    Not bad at all.
That's what led me to taking the path of least resistance.
They had a couple lower mileage t.c's for $400 and a couple 100k+ for 160. (no thanks)

Isn’t there some fossil field out there where you can go dig for fossils. I might be making that up. Faint memories about what I didn’t do when we traveled through that area 10 plus years ago…

I think there are a couple places like that but not sure where. I’m not a collector of much of anything so places that burden me with more “stuff”, especially natural stuff that may be better off where it lies, don’t interest me much.

Apparently I chose a good week to visit Custer State Park because it’s the only week of the year when they round up the herd for sorting, immunization, etc. very up close and personal view of the herding/sorting process. Couple of the big fellas kicked the metal railings and guards, holy smokes you do not want any part of that thunder.

Mules are very accustomed to handouts, so much so that they were shaking down each car for treats. I said “fuhgetaboutit make like a tree and get outta here” and they moved to the next mark. He pushed my side mirror in rubbing/itching on it.

All I have for now. Think I’m going to start making my way south. Passing up a bunch of things but since I can’t hike right now I’m limited.
