I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting an ABS warning light after changing the pads. The scan tool says it's the left front wheel, but doesn't tell me anything else.

I don't see how I could have damaged the wiring, as it's in a fairy sturdy wiring harness and doesn't appear to be damaged. Connector looks fine and fits tight. There's plenty of brake fluid. What else should I be looking at? Is there a diagnostic sequence that I could follow to figure out what went wrong? I've changed brake pads dozens of times, it's not rocket science.

I know you don't think you damaged it but the wiring is def the most likely culprit imo. I'm sure someone could chime in with a diagnostic procedure for it

have you tried turning it off and back on again?

I mean, clear the code and drive to an area where you can safely test if your ABS is functional.

to get the front tires to skid, reverse as fast as you can and really slam the brakes... a wet surface helps.

If it's a hard fault what I'm gona do is take my jumper leads and connect the opposite side sensor to the problem side (making sure to the polarity is correct) and see if my fault code for that side goes away, if it does then my problem is the sensor. If it doesn't then my problem is on the truck side.

The first thing I'd do is check my connections. Then, I'd separate them and look at each one for anything that doesn't look normal, then get the ohm meter out. It could be just a coincidence that a sensor went bad.
