I'm trying to buy a used tonneau cover for my new-to-me 2nd Gen Taco truck, short bed. I've found a model 80701 on FB Marketplace for a decent price, but although I know the bed dimensions are very close between the Jeep and the Taco, I don't know if it will actually fit. Model number for the x4s on the Taco is listed as 80406 while the Jeep is listed 80701. I can't find actual dimensions of the tonneau covers on their site...

TIA for any light you can shed.

I spoke to them through their Chat function and was told that the vehicle makes were different so the model numbers would be different (well, yeah...could be, but not necessarily). Is it just a marketing ploy? I was unable to get dimension info out of them. I can see on their site they list the two different model numbers for the two vehicles, but without dimension info, that's not too helpful. I was wondering if anyone had experience trying to make a model 80701 fit on a Taco truck, rather than using the 80406.

Tonneau covers are typically made to the truck, not to a length. The specific part numbers could also be an indicator that the installation hardware is different to accommodate the specific vehicle year, make, model, and bed length.

Agreed, Santana@Realtruck. Exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on one of these used models that "might" fit, as I assume they will be just a bit different in terms of attachment and hardware, and I don't want to get in a bind and then have to try to resell the thing. I was hoping for some anecdotal info from someone who has tried it. Thanks.
