I've been very happy with the husky x act contour mats and would buy them again. Highly recommended.

Never even heard of base layer. I have maxpyder 3d and have for a year. I like them. They're well insulated, they have a nice rubberized texture, they hold a lot of liquid, and they clean mud almost as well as a husky.

I would call those the po-boys tuxmat.

If I had to do it again, tuxmat. And if I can't afford tuxmat, the high end husky xacts, and if can't afford those, the Maxpyder

I have a set of weathertechs sitting on the trash can in the garage going to the street in the morning :D they're not what they used to be. I dislike new husky liners because they have a weird slippery-ness to them for a while, almost like teflon, but they hold up way better. currently i have the factory all weather and they are beat the F up for only having 30k miles on the truck. i can't imagine they'd last another year.

Those words are poetry, elegant eloquence. Words that could turn the cold heart of Hades to allow him to release the beloved wife of Orpheus as his music never could.

I've had Tacoma OEM, weathertech, and Husky Xact Contour. The husky's are by far the best. They were never slippery. The weathertechs were though and one of the reasons I got rid of them.
