Hello all. Recently purchased a 2021 4x4 OR.

I have put a couple thousand miles on it so far. I'm coming from a twenty year old 4Runner, so the ride difference is night and day. Cabin comfort, noise, etc is much better. I considered getting another 4Runner but wanted to try out the Tacoma. I do have one gripe and it is hard to overlook, believe me I have tried. The shifting and throttle response. Maybe I should have done more research on these before buying but i didn't think it would be this bad. I have spent a lot of time in "S" mode just to bypass the shifting points. It works but I don't want to do this long term. I also use ETC some, and it does make a difference, but don't want to continue to do so. I am reading a lot about the OTT and think having it done may be the best option. Will the tune make this truck a more enjoyable daily driver? Any advice on which tune to get?

Where I am seeing the worst of the hesitation is driving up and down neighborhood streets and of course freeway driving when slowing down for traffic and then trying to accelerate again. It feels like I'm pulling a 10,000lb trailer.

Look forward to learning more. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome! I'd recommend posting your tune question in the performance and tuning section. I'm sure they'll be able to get you headed the right direction.
