2019 SR5 running Form Headlights. Quick question… I’m troubleshooting a rapid flash I’m having right now with my drivers side signal and after opening the fuse-box I noticed this slot for a 10 that doesn’t have a fuse in it. The lid indicates it’s for DRLs, but I’m wondering if that may be throwing it off? I’ve seen pictures online of some having the fuse there and some not having it.

    IMG_5422.jpg

I’m working with Form Lighting to try and fix the issue, and I installed the supplied harness for the DRLs with no success to eliminating the rapid flash. Just wondering if anyone might have any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

DRL has NOTHING to do with turn signal circuit. They share the ground only.

Check your drivers side turn signal lamps “bulbs” most likely one is blown.

I’ve bolted some stuff to it *lists cool stuff here*
Is the bulb led where it wasn’t before?? They don’t use the same amount of wattage and the truck thinks it’s blown..

OP, the Taco's with the fuse in that spot means they have LED DRL's. Taco's without the fuse are ones with the TURN and DRL combined, such as your SR5.

These headlights are designed to be plug and play since the SR5 doesn’t have LEDs from the factory they supply a harness that’s supposed to alleviate this issue. They even sent me a set of resistors to add to try and solve the problem, but they didn’t fix it.

It’s just a bit odd, because I have a buddy with the same setup and he’s had zero issues. Mine worked just fine for the first couple months. Then it started doing the rapid flash occasionally. Now it’s every time I use the left signal.

Edit: I have the OEM lights still… thinking about plugging the drivers side one back in to see if the issue persists to at least narrow it down to the headlight itself being the problem.

Yep, I just tried hooking the OEM light back up. No rapid flash. It also has all LED bulbs installed.

    Hazards work just fine.

So far I've tried the following:
    1. Hooked up additional harness for DRL's and resistors provided. The additional harness is supposed to make the DRL's all white instead of amber, but this didn't seem to work either as they just remained amber.
    2. Unplugged just the turn signal harness on driver's side front (rear signal still rapid flashes)
    3. Hooked up OEM headlight housing and confirmed signal blinks normally (rear signal normal as well)

I'm thinking it's just a faulty headlight housing itself. I sent a follow-up email to Form Lighting, so I'll have to wait and see what they say.

Verify good contact (ground & hot) on the added resistors. Or change for new ones.

Just ran to the store and grabbed some new ones. Still no luck unfortunately. I’d say it’s the lights themselves. I have the OEM ones, but I’m gonna wait and see if Form will replace these so I’m not taking my bumper off more times than I need to

They still work other than the hyper flash, but it sucks paying so much for headlights that are designed/advertised to be plug and play.

One last test, swap the combiner harness from left to right (both) and see if the hyper flash transfers to other side.

Hyperflash is caused by too little resistance in circuit. Unplugging lights isn't going to help. The resistors need to be connected inline with the front turn signals to increase the resistance.

That’s where they currently are. I swapped new ones in today with no luck. I’m gonna try swapping sides tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll see what Form Lighting says when they’re back in the office this week.

I'm leaning towards the headlight housing itself being the problem since the OEM light worked fine earlier when I hooked it up. FWIW my OEM headlights have all LED bulbs as well. Unless maybe the Form Lighting ones are running with more power continuing to cause this issue?

I’m an aircraft mechanic by trade so I can turn a wrench, but I’m at a loss when it comes to electrical troubleshooting  I do appreciate all the input so far though!

But where and how? If not done correctly, they may as well not be there at all.
