    Hello Guys,
Here is a long /short sequence. I went to the store and my truck would crank but not start.
Changed the Battery. Since the one I had it was a Feb 2019. Then we changed the fuel pump and we went ahead and replaced it. While battery was out.
After that same problem. Truck cranks but no start. Tested the pump and Ohms were ok.

We tried to run the codes with different OBD port readers and they were not connecting with car at all.
We have read a few forums and they state to do a ECU reset or get another one?

Thank you in advance. These forums are indeed great!

I just bought an Ancel TD700. It comes with Toyota software and can read the Trans Temps on my 2016 Auto.

Sounds like you have a network/communication issue why your scan tool wouldn't communicate. Most likely also related to your truck not starting. I don't have access to a wiring diagram to share but you can purchase a short term subscription to TIS here https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/appmanager/t3/ti?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ti_home_page&goto=https://techinfo.toyota.com:443/agent/custom-login-response?state=0ErbhV8psgZmV7rB1oTX6plILzM&original_request_url=https://techinfo.toyota.com:443/

Otherwise unless someone like @Bishop84 or @dms91 chimes in to offer assistance, check your fuses and if you don't find anything then I would suggest taking it to the dealer...If you find a blown fuse, unplug all your accessories before installing a new one in case they caused your fuse to blow. Then trying starting the truck and scanning for codes and go from there.

Walking you through networking diag without wiring diagrams may not get you past knowing you have a problem... which is already obvious though in this case

    Thank you @joba27n and @TA2016
So we checked all the fuses.. Should have added that. Under the dash and hood as well. They were ok and we did also check the Crankshaft Pos Sensor. They were ok.
I may check out the TIS subscription.

    UPDATE--------.
We did a few diagnostics as usual plus a lot of help from you guys on this forum..
First we reset the ECU through the Battery and also Pin no4 and 12. (this brought the engine light on - Meaning the ECU was FINE...
Then we crosschecked the Fuel Pump since I had just replaced it...It was fine. No disconnet.
We then tried the starter fluid and the truck started fine. Then We put an BIGGER COMPUTER SCANNER THROUGH THE ECU and Battery.. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING...
The Codes were Throttle Control disabled. Throttle P0120 -- All to do with throttle..

So we fine went to the ACTUAL GAS ---PEDAL... Then I found the wire connecting to the CL Throttle Controller was bent....(looks like an iphone charge pin wire (not the type C)
I Pulled it out and saw the pins were compromised OMG... maybe the truck will start if I pull out the whole thing from the pedal and connect the original...
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM Boy was I relieved . IT STARTED RIGHT UP... I SHED A TEAR OF JOY!......

APPARENTLY The Small CL throttle Controller can throw off your ECU and OBDII if it is Compromised.

Gotta love it when an OP comes back to update the thread a few weeks later with the resolution! Glad to hear you fixed it OP.

Out of curiosity, are you leaning towards getting a tune or just replacing the throttle controller after this experience?

    Thank you.
    @Rednecktacoma22
I will lean towards a Tune plus a few add ons -K&N air intake.
Then I will replace the wire on the CL controller and sell it.
