I did this mod identical to the OP's install going on two years ago. Its a great product, easy to use and I mounted my camera in the center of the garnish. No issues mounting it there. Just for those wondering where to mount the camera and if there was any issues with it having issues iwith the TSS.

Does this pause/disable your navigation when the camera is on?

I have the BeatSonic. I see the Anytime option. Both have benefits and drawbacks. I just discovered this. This may not have the drawbacks of both mentioned.

BeatSonic pauses/disables your navigation to show the image, which is a problem if you have it automatically turn on when you're going under a certain speed (like at a stop sign, or just slowing down to turn or find an address), and then the navigation doesn't keep updating. Then it takes about a minute to find itself and get going again. I have mine set to turn on only manually when I press the button. In no matter what mode is set, when you put it in reverse, the reverse camera overides and comes on.

From what I understand, the Anytime camera doesn't effect the Navigation, but you can only toggle from Front to Rear or Off. If the Front is on, then it stays on, even if you go into reverse. If it's Off, the Rear camera comes on when in reverse, like stock. This would make parallel parking harder if you had to manually turn the front camera on and off a few times.

This RFCC TTG2 controller appears to turn on the Front camera when turned on, or can set to turn on under a speed, and reverse automatically overrides the front camera when put in reverse. If it doesn't mess with the navigation, and my navigation could continue to talk to me while the camera is on, or kick right on when the camera is turned off, this might be the way to go. Thanks!

Sorry to necro this thread. I searched and didn't see anything and the majority of these posts are prior to 2021 which I think is when the advanced tech package with the 360 view was added. It sounds like so long as you have the toyota entune headunit this module should work, but just wanted to confirm. I imagine you would still have to plug in a secondary front camera into this unit as I doubt it would be able to tap into the OEM front camera unless maybe you can splice it, but I'm fine with a second camera lower in my bumper. Hope someone ventured down this path already and can confirm yay or nay. Thanks!

I'm on the same boat. I've been told by many of the dealers that even though i have the advance tech package the TRD Sport didn't come with a front facing camera and adding one won't work. I currently have an OEM TRD Pro Grille so it has a spot for the camera. I would like to either use an aftermarket camera that can fit in the same position or see if i can get my hands on an OEM camera. I'll keep you posted if on which camera i get and let you know how this mod goes.

I appreciate that, but I'm not sure it would be the same experience for the two of us. It seems that you have the advanced tech package but no 360 view. The 360 view is what stops the other anytime front cameras mods from working.

Anyone mount this higher up like where the stock ones come on the newer models? Like above the Tacoma letters on the pro grill?

Installed yesterday. Front camera mounted center and directly above TSS garnish on aftermarket TRD PRO Grill.

65 miles round trip journey today, utilizing the Dynamic Cruise Control for approx 20 Miles. No issues with TSS.

    Very useful modification.

Image on screen "appears" closer than reality. Slightly short of 3ft in image.

Rear Camera works just as expected, using switch or shifting into reverse.

Still going strong, one of my favorite mods!

Hey everyone. If you used the camera in this thread, the way it’s wired is pretty much one way. Start at the grill and run the wire to the cab. Issue is, if you ever need to remove your grill (say to replace the radiator like I just had to do), you either have to cut a notch in your grill to remove the camera bolt or cut the wire and re-attach all 6 thin leads together again when done. I ended up soldering the plug linked below after cutting the wire so that I now have a quick disconnect anytime I need to pull the grill in the future. As mentioned, the camera in this thread has 6 leads and this water proof plug provides you with 8 connections (more than enough, just terminate two of the leads). Just make sure you use individual heat shrinks and then one larger heat shrink to seal it all together. Works wonders once completed. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VBSUKS
