Hey all. I had to sell my favorite truck back in 2015 to get a full size when we found out we were having twins. Just sold my Ram and am working with a dealer to get in a 2024 TRD Off-road in that beautiful Blue. Looking forward to getting back into this group.

2 quick questions. I loved the roof rack on my 2008 and 2012. The one that folds back onto itself to reduce wind noise when you don't need it. Does anyone know if that same rack will fit a 2024? Found a place selling them on Amazon and it says it will fit the 2005 - 2024 but I don't trust their fitment guides.

Also, what was the first mod you made to the truck or the thing that has made the most difference? I simply can't not personalize a vehicle. Built custom console lock boxes for my past trucks but that probably won't be the first thing I do. Looking for good ideas.

    Cheers

    1st thing was mud flaps.

    3rd RCI rock sliders

Be sure you don’t get the Toyota roof rack reviews say it’s really noisy!

For a rack I'm still undecided and using cross bars on our wagon if and when needed. When it is time I'll get the Yakima towers that also accommodate the classic round bars I have or something similar I can remove.

My TRD OR is long bed and work oriented so I got and am happy with Fas-Top combo tonneau and soft topper all in one. I made a review here likely found searching "Fas-Top". That "mod" is superb. I have open bed when appropriate, tonneau that locks with tailgate and I pop up a top when needed or ideal. The pic shows when topper is up and tonneau rolled up.

One mod I didn't think out so well is I purposely wanted no sun/moon roof but installed those eject seats. First use was messy. The grind button on switch panel works well for my automatic transmission not in VIN range for the TSB.

Wescott brags that their roofrack has very little noise but I don't run one.

Just put the deposit down. Should be in by the end of the month.

Also, the parts manager said "they" are working on a version of the roof rack like the old style that fits the 2024 Tacoma and he expects it to be available in 6 mths or so. I'm gonna wait a bit to see if that pans out.
