Stretched the legs of my Tacoma on stock suspension in Rausch Creek, PA yesterday, I can say it did great while I love to add more clearance, I would still prefer stock-ish on-road feel.
Key to remember is slow slow slow, since the truck is sitting much lower than a lifted one with bigger tires, I didn't want to have extra bounce/jerkyness over rocks, just be patient and practice my throttle/brake modulation.

Damn, those are some great looking wheels  Truck looks good too :fistbump:

you could always try a spacer lift to keep the oem feeling. Nothing wrong with them if you like the oem suspension.

Thank you. I was thinking about the spacer lift, but I probably just end up with the bilsteins 5100's at the lowest height setting (or lightly higher less than 1inch lift).
I am not seeing myself "rock crawling" like this often, but it sure is fun to do it once in a while.

@Road_Warrior has the 5100s and has been happy with them! I don’t think you would be wrong with them either

Rausch Creek is fun but a lot more rocks than I’d like with my daily driver even with sliders and an engine skid

Indeed, RC is very rocky, I used to go with my last Tundra on 37s and forgot how difficult even the greens are to stock vehicles. Even with full skids, it's not fun to bash on the frame all the time, and would need to do some touch up work after the trip to make sure it's rust free.

Yep! I have the 5100’s set at 1.55”. They have taken me all over North America and I’d buy them again in a heartbeat. Perfect suspension set up for a budget build that sees a mix of trails and on-road driving.

I took my 23 TRD OR through all the the level 1-3 trails at the Hot Springs Off Road Park. If you use the On-X rating system, that would be more like 2-5 I guess. I'm still running stock everything. I had no issues other than on one trail I drug my tow hitch a bit, and one of my stock mud flaps caught a rock and popped out.

Love it. Tacomas can do a lot of work even stock.

Over the years there’s been many places I have gotten in my Tacoma that “modified” truck can’t get to.

My former '22 and current '12 have both taken me places I thought FOR SURE I was going to need to be helped/towed out of; went down the (very) wrong trail in the '22, and grossly misjudged a drop off in to a ravine for a little side quest from an easy gravel road in the '12...and yet, slow and steady, just waltzed out without any drama...

Well, the stock tin skids weren't really thrilled about it. Especially after that misadventure in the '22..
