Help with head gasket replacement 09 tacoma 2.7

Never done head gasket on anything but older v8 engines , any advice or a walk through on a 2.7 would be much appreciated, I've been told you have to pull the engine is this true

 

Many people have done it without pulling the engine, I haven't done one but I think if I had to do one I would pull it and put it on a stand to do it being they aren't all that difficult to get out.

 

It can be done in truck.
It's just not "as easy".

This guy did it. Part #'s and all.
