A few months ago I installed OME bp51s on my truck. I had asked shock surplus if they thought I should use the lean spacer on the drivers side or if I should just account for it using a little more preload.

They said to just give it more preload.

Anyways, I am going to have to take it back off and either add just a little more preload or I thought about just taking it back down to match the preload on the passenger side and just install that factory spacer back in there.

Any thoughts on this ? As far as which y’all think might be better ? Thanks for any help.

Do what ever is easier for you. You wont do any harm with a 1/4" spacer. The BP51's are not a very tall shock. You will save a little bit down travel in the shock by using a spacer.

Thanks. And yeah I heard guys were having issues with them topping out when they had it set for over 2 inches of lift. I didn’t want a lot of lift and wanted to keep my preload minimal so where I’ve got it set, I only got about 1.5” of lift. Which is fine with me but I still experience top out going over speed bumps in a parking lot.
I think that is ridiculous….unless I’m mistaken and it’s something else. Been kinda wondering if maybe my factory upper control arm is keeping it from going all the way down
