Should put an electric valve in so you can adjust it live in the cab

I touched it about 3 years ago to dial it in, haven't touched it since. My truck stops great thankfully

A new video came out about installing my favorite bumper on a 100 series. I haven't watched it. I have very different work techniques.

I cannot stand the pace of his videos and his cadence. If the FSM is an engineering documentary, then he's a PBS Kids special on construction. So slow, always reiterating things, retalking points that are no longer relevant to someone following along or slipping in his mistakes way late instead of nonlinear editing in a correction. It's all a lazy slow production

These with a blackout can change up the look. I wish I had another LX. The differences are noticeable -- especially if you off-road monthly

There are some engineering (e.g. physics) things that people should know at the beginning of an operation that can save a lot of time and money instead of buying tools for bicycle repair that are unnecessary. That's when I got off the boat.

Yeah, i caught it at a crossing a few times the last few years, its awesome to see it moving.

The sound of the whistle makes a lot of the old songs about loneliness and train whistles make sense. Its almost mournful.

My buddy in Cali has to work today, I don't get my rental car till noon, I'm now stuck in the house with his MIL who seems to think its offensive if I am not actively engaged in conversation with her.

I've finished all the yardwork I can find... should I start taking his house apart? go for a run? or just put headphones on and act like I'm doing something lol

My MIL is probably the nicest person I've ever met but she's one of those people that has to be constantly talking...if she doesn't have someone to talk to, she'll just narrate her thoughts out loud. All. The. Time. I sincerely think the only time she's silent is when she's asleep and even then I'm not entirely convinced that's true.

I'm the total opposite so I can only handle her in certain doses lol.

    That's my MIL

She means well but holy shit she has a way of holding you verbally hostage - even when you're walking out the door, her story leads to another story and another

I railfanned a bit and looked up some other heritage steam locomotives. It's interesting how different the whistles sound. I wonder how much is due to design vs production variance vs age (I'm sure the craftsman-engineer would tweak things to his preference). The Big Boy does sound particularly mournful. Nickel Plate Road 765 sounds more angry.

Yeah I met a older lady neighbor of ours a block north of us while walking Dex and River in his stroller...it was like she was on adderall she just kept jumping from one subject directly to another, I never got a word in. She was nice but goddamn, was one of those times where you just have to cut someone off and say "I gotta go" otherwise I'd have been stuck there forever.

I've always used the "got stuff to do" and she'll finally cut herself short

Now with Theo, I rely on him getting annoyed sitting in the stroller waiting to move

    I'm like "yesssss!"

Yeah kids are definitely a great "get out of this situation free" card lol

I was going to add...people like that are also the absolute WORSE MOVIE WATCHERS, holy shit. My MIL will talk constantly through a movie and it's worse if it's one she's seen before and you haven't. She'll tell you everything that's about to happen. Like fuckin hell can we just watch this please

I feel bad because she's a super nice lady and will literally do anything she can for a stranger in need. But verbal hostage is a great way to describe it

That's my mom. Every thought in her head has to be verbalized. And let me tell you not all the thoughts are gold or even close to being PC.
