new trucks and having a dog. haha.

I drove my new 2023 for over a year before I considered allowing my dog inside. I kept my 2006 truck, so every time we had dog outing, I used that.

recently, wife and I took a weekend trip up north. used the new rig, put one of those dog hammocks in the back, and told my dog, "git in the truck!". I shit you not, first thing he does is get inside, rub himself all over, and then shake shake shake. those of you that helped me choose a rear seat hammock, thank you.

my dog got into water, got into my truck, shook off..he is essentially a bull in a china shop. my truck being the metaphor "china shop". my wife kills me. she said, "you should have gotten leather seats...". hahahaha..

oh, well, there went the last eeks of new truck smell. now I will probably sell the 2006.

(truck is easy to clean inside, especially with the hammock protection..but hair gets EVERYwhere.). I love my dog. he is my funnest friends.

 

I went with seat covers and don't care about what goes in anymore. Especially nice when I go fly fishing and need to move to a new spot with waders on.

 

Rough Country neoprene seat covers ... front/back, $200. Sliding in/out for driver at least is easier, and do NOT try to sit on the edge of the seat or your ass will fall off to the ground fast. But seals the seat fabric against sweat/rain/dirt/etc.

 

Thinskinz for my back doors work well for me and Yoshi ... and his pack friends out at the cabin.
EDIT: also keeps him from stepping on the window buttons, so I don't hafta be paranoid about locking out the windows. He's a head out the window Aussie A-hole, but he's mine and I love him.

 

I have the Hawaiian versions. cant remember the name. in my 2006. they are the hair grabbingest material ever. my dog's hair has a wild gravitational attraction to neoprene.

Seat covers and for spoiled girl. I have the rear seat delete which allows her to sit perfect without worrying about her falling out on the trails. Ext of truck had a bunch of pinstripes etc Lol. I side though my OCD does have me blow out the dog hair every week Magnetic Coozy with a trail beer of course

 

Stitch is 5 yrs old ... he lost his new truck smell in the first week. But I bought him for a purpose ... and it won't for going to the mall.
