If you've got that much mileage out of a set of aftermarket shocks and are unhappy, you won't like that Kings or Fox need to be rebuilt every 40k or so. Some of the fancier Bilstein options claim super long rebuild cycles.

The problem isn't the rebuild cycle, it's the arbitraily ending useable life by changing the design and not supporting their "lifetime rebuild" claim. At least King and Fox support their products with parts availablility to owners and rebuilders. Looking at King or Bilstein 8100 now.

After having a local-ish(charlotte area) rebuilder rebuild them (no warranty because no OEM parts available) the one is still leaking at the hose. *The hoses weren't replaced, but I assume any seals at the hose connection were.

Edit: the hoses were not touched at all.. and the one shock wasn't even opened..

Gonna go ahead and just name the shop... You make your own decision on who you let do work for you..

To follow up on this I took my rear bp51 apart, changed the oil in both shocks, and fixed the leaking hoses the shop(names above) didn't think needed done... Still charged me for oil for 2 shocks, Cherry red in one black in the other..
