Working with a 2023 TRD Sport, Access cab, 6 ft. bed.

I’m trying to achieve something like this:

The rooftop tent is over the cab, while also supported by:
    OverHaul HD Rack.
    Off-road rating of 300 lbs.
    On-road rating of 500 lbs.,

Installed a Sherpa Teton roof rack.
    Off-road rating of 300 lbs.
On-road rating of 600 lbs. Static

Thinking of purchasing this RTT, the iKamper Skycap 3.0 (165 lbs.)
Maximum load of occupants for the tent maybe.. 360-420lbs on different excursions.

I’m looking at this option as I’m still trying to keep the bed open so we can bring two dirt bikes in the bed.

Does this set up make sense?

Is it cool to put that amount of weight on the access cab?
I’ve seen the pics of a taco upside down on its roof, supporting the rest of the truck, with the doors closed, and its not crushed like a can, what about when the front and suicide door is open… there is no vertical support.

Is there a better solution that someone has come up with that works?

Have you ever offroaded your truck and seen how much the bed twists in comparison to your truck cab? It's A LOT. this is going to drastically change the angle of the OverHaul rack compared to the roof of your truck. Something is going to dent, rip, or break. Might even rip the mounting bolts out of the bottom of the RTT.

    This 100%.

The top of my Alu-Cab sways quite a lot when on the rough stuff, especially at speed.

This will not work in the long term.

Roof rack bolted together with bed not a good idea . U can mount a rtt on a roof rack as long as it doesn’t connect to the bed of truck like the one on top . U will get a lot of wind drag and noise .

I can't see a problem with letting the cab support the full weight of the tent and occupants. I think that frame can handle like [static] 600-800 lbs easy (or something in that neighborhood, as I recall. A quick google search can confirm but I'm lazy). Bolting it to the bed and cab simultaneously seems dangerous, as people said above. (It looks really cool though...) I just feel like you'd end up ripping something off the roof, or the bed, or the tent if drove down the wrong rutted road. Trying to ratchet-strap your tent back onto the truck so you don't leave it in the Mojave Desert is the opposite of a fun weekend camping trip haha
