3rd Gen Production Officially Ended

I tried that a little by bashing the hideous amounts of metal bends on the outside and <whatever the F> the dash and door inside were supposed to be, but all anyone was saying was that "you're seeing preproduction models, that's not the final design / colors / angles" drivel. I won't even talk about the magic seats...

 

Approximately 2 million 3rd gen Tacomas were sold in the US according to the website goodcarbadcar.

Does anyone know where/how to get a breakdown by 3.5L/2.7L or SR/ SR5/Sport /Offroad, etc?

 

I'd love a breakdown on how many were manuals broken out by trim.

 

Yeah, that would be interesting info. We know the count for the SR and SR5 trims was zero after 2017.

A TFL article from Nov 2023 said "Toyota says that about 6% of current Tacoma owners choose a manual transmission. It means that Toyota currently sells around 14,000 manual transmission Tacomas per year."

 

I live in Alberta currently, I keep getting emails from my local dealership asking me to trade in my 3rd gen for a 4th.

When I bought my 3rd gen they didn't have a single Tacoma on the lot. I wonder what 4th gen sales are looking like.

 

I’m in the SE US and I get about one email/month like that. “We’ll give you the best deal for your 2020 Tacoma” yada yada yada.

 

If you dig through my post history, early this year I did the math on the 2023 stick take rate based on Motor1 and Toyota-published numbers. It was just shy of 3,300 sticks out of roughly 250,000 cars. Bang on 1.4% of 2023 sales.

I just want to go full Corvette owner on it, how many stick ELM TRD OR 4x4s did Toyota make?

 

Do the math at say 30k average?
Just for US then there net sales were >$60, 000, 000, 000.
