I’ve got a bunch of rust around the chain holders on my hitch. Any recommendations on the best way to remove that and then what paint would be best to match the factory finish? Thanks in advance.

Do you tow at all? The chain hooks will wear off the paint if you tow.

get some Ospho at the hardware store and spray/wipe down per directions and then just hit it with your favorite flavor of semigloss black.

Ok here's what you're gonna want to do.

Take the guard off an angle grinder, screw on a block of wood, and they glue some sandpaper to it. Use that to get the rust off.

Then you crush up some ramen noodles, mix it with super glue and fill in the pits.

Sand it with your angle grinder.

Paint it black with nail polish.

    Factory finish. OEM quality repair.

Either talking or on the phone or clipping your toenails during the movie ... you were bound to get into trouble.

I agree ... sand/grind away the rust you can see, smooth it out to save fingers in the future, Rustolean paint.

It’s a constant maintenance thing if you live in a salt state and tow. Sand and paint, Mavecoat , sand and paint, Mavecoat. Works for me, Fluid Film works good as well.
