So, I am borrowing a scanner that reads transmission fluid temp. When I change my transmission fluid and drain, what temp should the transmission fluid be before I drain the fluid to a trickle? I heard anywhere from 96 degrees to 100 degrees to 110 degrees to 116 degrees. Does anyone know the correct temp?

It doesn't matter. You only need it warm to check after filling.

    I always use the 100*-116*.

For that matter, I do so much towing, that I change mine regularly. I just put in exactly what I take out. I haven't used the temp recommended fill check since I did the 1st drain and fill.

also, FWIW I did a full drain and fill at around 110k miles on my 2018. I dropped the pan and replace gasket well as filter. At the time I did not have the scangauge so I did the procedure as stated in the FSM with the pins in the ODB connector. I did it numerous times to be on the safe side to make sure trns temp was nomral. kinda was nervous about it all at the time becasue didnt want to get it wrong but its been 30k miles since and shes still a workhorse. runs strong and my trans temps read normal on my scangauge even on long haul road trips and 4wheeling.
