Well I checked my brake pads on my 2012 Prerunner about a week ago and was surprised to find they were worn nearly out (measured 3mm in the red zone). Replaced them with Toyota Branded Ceramic Pads. Braking performance is back up and great once again. Two things I found odd was that the factory had bent the locking "Hair Clips" that prevents the brake retention pins from backing out. And I only have 59,930 miles on the truck with factory brakes. I've never replaced disc brake pads on any vehicle that I've owned with less than 100K miles.... Until now anyway.

My original didn't make it to 60k ether.
I put on Advanced Auto Premium Ceramic and I have 110k+ plus on those now. (And still going)
I don't think the OE pads on mine were ceramic? I honestly don't remember?
    That was years ago.

    My originals were metalic pads.
