Hey guys, I just wanted to get any ideas before I take to Toyota service about what could be the issue on my 2016 trd sport 2WD with 142,000 miles.

I needed new front brake pads so I got the powerstop pads and rotors. They worked better than original And truck was running great but since I never did any maintenance besides oil change I decided to change the engine air filter for the first time and I got it from Toyota. I also cleaned MAF and Throttle body (they were dirty) while battery terminals were disconnected. Truck was fine for a little but started to lose power acceleration and lost mpgs. I changed spark plugs for the first time they were for Toyota and the truck got better but not like what it used to be. I also changed PCV valve from Toyota. For years my mpg was 21.5 and now it’s like 18. I also notice that it takes just a little bit longer for the truck to warm up then before (I don’t think coolant has been changed but I will soon don’t think that the prob) I don’t have a check engine light, the battery I’ve had for about 3 years not sure if it’s original though, tires have 35 psi and I got an alignment done. Soon I will change rear diff fluid for first time. Also When I have an extra person or more weight on the bed I can really feel the loss of power when accelerating, I have to step harder than the last 3 years to go and once I’m up to speed it’s fine I just can feel a difference when accelerating. Sorry and thank you!

While it is possible to be a coincidence, it Sure seems likely that it is something you inadvertently did, while servicing. Retrace your steps, and check for piece of paper towel or something in the intake or MAF or throttle body, make sure all the wires and lines are attached, make sure the battery terminals are tight, and check spark plugs are tight, coils are seated and wires are locked on, or maybe even pull plugs and check for dirt short across the tips.

Bummer , but wish you luck.
