What are the main reason I can have transmission issues with my clean title truck that only has 72,000 miles on it.
    Symptoms are
    • Slipping
    • Engine revving and can’t find the right gear
    • On stop signs when I start to accelerate my wheels screech and my truck jolts forward before actually catching the gear to start driving
This is all around under 35 mph, can this also be a case of a vacuum leak causing this issue which is severe enough to harm my transmission, do I need to do a drain and fill of transmission fluid, or do I take it to a shop and swap the transmission with truck with less miles on it. Please let me know thanks

wheels (tires) screeching and truck jolting forward doesn't sound like slipping,, though maybe the convertor is slipping and then engaging at higher than designed RPM, causing it to launch?
Did you check the transmission fluid level?

^This. First thing I would do is check fluid level and quality. Also get underneath and check for leaks.

Check fluid level first. Also can get dealer to update

After checking the transmission fluid level, you might look into a ECM flash. Here is a TSB for 2019-2020 Tacomas. Sure sounds like your 2018 has these symptoms.

You need to describe the problem better. I’m having a hard time understanding. Could it be too much doobie in the driver?

Get the fluid changed and at that time the dealer will check the fluid level . Also have the dealer do the reflash like said before . I think there is a very good chance it will be ok. These transmissions are pretty bullet proof , just the programming is lots of times where the issues come from . Also have the fluid in the rear diff checked and changed

Hey so I checked my transmission fluid only 1 qt poured out so I did a full flush and fill. My guess is last mechanic shop when checking my fluid levels poured too much out. Luckily I didn’t drive far on this only max about 3 miles. So far my transmission hasn’t been having any issues so l hope it stays like that. This really pissed me off.

That’s awesome, hopefully all good for you. We always have to look into the simple stuff first ,and check up on other peoples work when something don’t work right. I just had my Lexus RX oil changed and tires rotated , they told me I needed front brakes soon. I got a quote that day that was silly , and decided to get my own brakes and do it my self . I ordered OEM pads ( changed them today actually) ,went to take off the front wheels , and both front wheels were loose. They probably snugged the front wheels because they thought I was going to ok the brake job a couple of weeks ago , and when i didn’t forgot to torque the lugs is my guess .
