I’ve heard that a lot about the ko2’s but most are saying the ko3’s solved that problem

To many complaints on the ko2’s in rain I would go ko3’s if I went BFG

Yep. 265/75/16 here. Same construction as the at3w... not the at4w.

The Good Year Ultra Terrain is the smoothest riding A/T I’ve ever had, balanced perfectly and the tread wear is amazing. Guys are getting 50-60,000 miles from them. New they have 16/32” of tread and are pretty darn quiet. These are 265/70R16s. 7EFE400C-D4F4-481A-8DA3-06BADA784B96.jpg

Last year, I put 265/75/16 Mickey Thompson Boss ATs (A/B rated) on my Tacoma, and 265/70/17 Toyo AT3s (C rated) on my 4Runner. I didn't want the same tire on both. I lost about 2 mpg with the MTs, and about 1 mpg with the Toyos.

IMHO, visually, the MTs look better, and I suspect the Toyos will do slightly better on winter roads? Next year, I'm moving north to a colder climate, so I'll see more ice and snow. Both are three peak rated.

I had Toyo's on my F150. They were fine when new, but LOUD after about 30,000 miles. They were supposed to be a 60,000 mile tire, but they would not have made it to 55,000. We had a 7000 mile road trip planned this summer. They had 45,000 on them and I replaced them early. Partly because they would have been worn out before we made it home and I didn't want to listen to them roar for 3 weeks and 7000 miles.

Buy the Michelins. You'll get used to the look and be happier down the road.

Goodyear Duratrac RT, probably the most aggressive-looking AT/RT tire, and available in 255/80-17 so you can get into the 33" size without trimming. I have it on my 4Runner and it's great. No steering shimmy. No highway howl (like with gen-1 Duratracs).

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
After 6 years of KO2s on my Taco I went with the AT3s this time out of curiosity. They are far better in wet pavement conditions, and do very well in beach sand and mud fire-trails. They are notably louder with road noise on pavement at all speeds. I recommended them for my son to get for his truck as well.

If run them at 29psi I lose about 1-2 mpg highway. Around town it’s about the same. I think if you ran them about 32-33 psi it would be negligible.
I’m tough to please with tires, I didn’t expect much but they ride nicer than my Michelins.

Wildpeaks suck! Lots complain about how heavy they are and can't ever seem to get them to balance. They are and always have been considered a low end tire right neck to some Crosswinds at WALMART!
