Hello All- I have a very stock 2017 SR double cab that I'd like to switch-up the wheels and tires. Currently have stock 16" steel rims, and from what I've read and researched, I'd should be able to move up to 17" PTR20-35110-G4 Gloss Gunmetal gray wheels. Can anyone confirm my thinking I could run 265/70/17 tires without any issue or lifting? Also, is it accurate that I'd need mag style lugs and new TPMS? Thanks for the help for a noob!

Can confirm will fit, no issue. Can't confirm about needing mag style lugs & TPMS

Thanks for the replies so far! Any recommendations on lug nuts, or just any aftermarket M12x1.5 mag seat?

TPMS sensors are up to you. I took the ones in my steel wheels and installed them in my new wheels which are on the Tacoma most of the year. When I swap out wheels for winter driving I am able to ignore the TPMS light on the dash. I've read where some guys cover it up with a piece of tape. I just ignore it seeing what replacements cost.
Tire clearance can sometimes be an issue. When my larger wheels get turned hard while in reverse they do rub slightly once in awhile in the wheel well and I did remove my front air dam completely, No difference in MPGs. Been running the same set up on my 17 SR extended cab since new. No lift installed.

Is the 265/70R17 a common replacement for the OEM 16” wheels? I am currently running on 265/70R17. I have a concern that they may wear out the brake faster and they are burning up about 10% more gas. They sure look good though.

    Are my concerns valid?

I really appreciate all this discussion and advice. I think I'll give the OEM steel TPMS a shot (with the 180 degree rotation that I've read about)...to start with, anyhow. Going from 16" steel wheels to the 17" TRDs, I know mag style lugs are needed (not acorn), but do they need to be a longer/taller style, or the standard 1.47" tall?
