I have an access cab 4.0 automatic that needs new meats. Will there be a noticeable power loss by moving from the stock size to 265/75-16s? They will be an SL load and weigh only 39 lbs, at least per the manufacturer.

I didn’t get any decrease with 33s. I have heard though that 35s do cause a bit of decrease hence why many people upgrade gearing at that size.

Tire weight and circumference has more of an impact on vehicle performance and mpg than most people think.

I cant speak for your present size tire, gear ratio and weight combo. I did noticed a power and m.p.g. increase when I replaced the heavy 28 lb o.e. rims with 21 lb rims. At 6 lbs removed from each wheel combo. (x's 4 = 24 lbs) on my Sienna 225 60 17, it saw 10% to 15% better m.p.g.

I had a 2012 TRD off road and went from stock tires to all terrain 265/75r16 load range C tires (about 47lbs) and only noticed a slight loss in power while under hard acceleration.
Otherwise no change at all and the extra stopping power in bad weather saved me many times.
