2022 Tacoma TRD sport OEM Bed lights

Greetings,

I want OEM bed lights. I have a 2022 TRD Sport access cab. I was wondering if anyone knew if you need the entire bed light kit with switch and relay even though I have the brake light where the overhead bed light on the cab would normally be? I am also wondering if anyone knows if I can replace that brake light with a bed light without any additional modification beyond the latter mentioned kit. Thanks!

 

I have a 2020 Sport. The plugs for the bed lights were behind the tail lights, took all of 10 minutes to install. I didn’t need any parts other than the lights, which I got from Winter Park Toyota, via eBay. I seem to remember that the wiring and plugs were there after the 2019 models.

 

As far as I know, for an Access Cab, you need the factory bed light switch, relay, and the lights. The lights will plug in to an unused harness behind the tail lights, and the cargo switch and relay will activate the lights/circuitry.

 

Do you know if I can replace the cab brake light with a bed light as well?

 

I got an extra Relay if anyone needs it. Came in a kit I bought but the truck already had it.
