    I'll see you boys there!

I spent almost all of Sunday going back over any nooks and crannies I might have missed with a brush and my leftover woolwax. Then I did the underside of the sliders and the skids right before putting them on. First the inside and then the outside where all the scratches were.

I had a good system going but spent a lot of time wrestling off a seized bolt and then creating another one trying to force the last bolt in....go figure.

My undercarriage is all nice and Woowaxed but I do need to give the body panels a quick wipe down.

That ceramic stuff is paying for itself and it's the cheapo version.

Now I wish I would have taken a few pics of my skids before I put them back on. Looked pretty gnarly... and they should!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

I was going to make a joke that you need to bring an extra bumper to haul around for the trip, but that might come off sounding kinda mean, so I won't.

    It says 1hr & 34 min commute.
Not sure if I can make it yet. Hopefully I can slide out of work a little early. A beer is definitely needed. Do they have a cigar deck?

    Which bowling alley?
    We bowl all day Sundays
I’m at the The Lanes on 20 (Racine)
9am-noon. We take a break and back bowling 6pm-10pm at Castle Lanes (Racine)

Castle Lanes makes decent Old Fashioned drinks.

We definitely should do a group bowling outing one day this winter. Just can’t do it on Sundays!!

Last week a split in the 9th frame killed my bid for 300.

I finally got started at making the paint look halfway respectable again.
Since Pat's Adventure, I have only driven the truck 3 times. The truck was refusing to go out in public.

From Racine? Were you looking at the Muskego location?

    upload_2024-10-21_20-6-54.png

Not sure on the smoking rules, but they do have an outdoor patio area and I assume, being a truck meetup, people will be hanging around outside in the parking lot.

Would be great to see you there. Hope it works out!

Guys, I just realized that the event post refers to this as "Trunk or Treating." Did it say that before? Does that mean we have to have candy in our trucks to hand out to kids?! I looked up trunk or treating and apparently it's commonly a parking lot event where people decorate their vehicles and hand out candy from the trunks. I'm not sure I'm into that if this is like a family event (with beer?). Did I miss this detail before?

    I work in Chicago suburbs!

That was an estimated time from my work to the brewery. Sadly it doesn’t add rush hour traffic at 4:30pm tomorrow.
I should make it between 6:30-7pm if I don’t need to work O.T.

    Holy shit! What a game!!!

I bowl at Sussex Bowl. It's my first time bowling with any regularity in about 20 years. I was in a league for a couple of years in my early/mid 20's. I never was a very good bowler, either. I think I wound up with about a 150 average after a few years in that League.

Then, I didn't bowl at all for probably 10 or 15 years at least. I think it was probably about 2 years ago some friends of mine asked if I wanted to go bowling just for grins. Then, we started going every couple of weeks or months.

Then, this past summer they asked if I wanted to join a league. I told them I would probably not, but I would sub for them. Then, a few weeks after that they told me they were a guy short for the league and so I decided to try it out for a year.

Weirdly, I started out the season averaging about a 150 the first week, and then went downhill from there. Have been hovering around the 130s. I decided to buy a new ball last week, and it seems to be making a difference. Also, I decided to put a little more effort into focusing on my release and concentrating more on my spares and I could see my average going up from here. Or, maybe the practice games over the last couple of days have been a fluke, LOL.

Interesting. Seems like a bad idea too encourage kids to take candy out of strangers' vehicles, LOL.

Okay, I found a number and called and talked to a nice dude named Jay who runs these events and will be there tomorrow. They are doing the Trunk or Treat thing, but it's very informal and if you want to participate you can. I think that will be more for the families that show up. My costume will be "Toyota camper guy drinking beer." Very scary.

I ordered a handful of vehicle wrap samples. I got to thinking that I could put on 5 layers and just peel off a layer at a time as they got bad. Hmmm.

Ah, I see! Was thinking you had the slowest truck in Racine. :D

And yes, awesome game you had there! I bowled in a social league for 10 years. Didn't bowl much for some years after that ended and tried again about 4 years ago not long after I had injured my knee in an awkward fall. First roll I nearly collapsed onto the lane when the knee gave out. I learned that I had a vertical fracture at the top of my tibia. Took months to heal. I haven't bowled or golfed since then, fearing I'd injure it again. If we have a bowling gathering I'll just partake in the old fashioneds.

Funny thing is that was a charity event with a raffle and I won a new bowling ball. It's still sitting in the basement undrilled.

In High school I did Track and cross country. Anything requiring skill or coordination was a non starter for me.

I've done it with both of my Tacomas. Your steering will feel weird, otherwise, I wouldn't expect any trouble.

Here's that bowling ball. I think I recall it being described as a decent beginner ball. The interwebs price it out at around $90-100. If anybody here is interested in it I'll let it go for 2 beers. Let me know. I'll probably never use it.
