I didn't think they were doing Taco shafts anymore. Especially with the RPM limits my understanding was they had fallen somewhat out of favor with the taco crowd.

Driving in front wheels should be fine just don't race it and steering will be a little different. And pay attention to all the extra noises it might make.

Yeah but ..... I've earned it

    I also laughed irl.

If you have one of theirs you can get it replaced/fixed etc. Can't be one of the whiners...

So that begs the question... why? I have had vehicles in the past that I did it with but this is a tad more "fussy". Thus the question. Were you trying to chase a vibration?

Trashed u-joints on both trucks. I think the reason the steering feels weird is the geometry isn't designed for torque steer.

    No brewery for me tonight.:annoyed:
Sadly I’ll be stuck working several hours overtime tonight.
Have a blast and a beer for me.

Definitely need to meet up next month . I know I have 4 weeks of vacation/personal days I need to burn between now and the end of the year. Well, until my wife tells me we have family birthdays, weddings, family dinners, and anything she can add not on the calendar yet!!!
Possible bowling/bar meet up week of Thanksgiving?

Another fun evening with some TWWI hooligans in the books! The rain held off because @wi_taco is in Texas and it was great to see @Aztec120 @OldSchlPunk and @McSpazatron .

Rich and I talked about my spare tire situation and I think we're gonna have a fun collaboration getting a solution set up for my truck. Super excited about that! Thanks for all the great ideas from everyone here. I love how the community comes together on these things.

After hanging by the trucks for a bit I declared I was thirsty and we must get refreshments. After the first beer was in hand, Carlos and I spotted an Ineos Grenadier and wandered over to drool on it. A friendly young fella asked us if we had any questions. Well, of course we did. He was not the owner, but a "Sales Sherpa" (that's what's on his card) for Knauz out of Lake Bluff, IL. He was very knowledgeable, and after talking for a bit, he showed us a quick video on his phone of the truck in action. Looked like kinda familiar terrain. He and some of his crew were at Tigerton a couple weeks ago! Well, here we go! Soon after that, he reveals that he grew up in Crandon and his family owns the track up there! We talked of all sorts of trails in the state and the UP.

I'm out of beer at this point and we should get back to Rich and Cisco. He told us we should contact him when we plan a Tigerton trip and he might be able to bring up a truck or two. How cool is this dude?! I'll hang onto his card and maybe we can make that happen next spring.

Back at our trucks we talked lighting and scratch removal and such for a bit. Did our 20 minute WI goodbyes and hit the road. I actually forgot to take any pictures, but maybe the other fellas have some to share. There were some other fun vehicles and also some giant bro-dozers with huge lifts, giant sparkly lighted 8" offset wheels with rubber band MT tires, begging for attention. Good time and friendly folks.

You read my mind.....sort of. I didn't take many pictures besides the important one.

I at least have the beginnings of what I'm sure will be an awesome solution. @OldSchlPunk really doesn't fuck around.

I also got a solution for a problem I didn't even know existed. I mentioned to @McSpazatron that RCI sent me the bolts for the tread plates that I purposely left off when worrying about rust.

He suggested using a HDPE type material to keep gravel from bouncing off the door panels. Genius!

It was a great time seeing everyone again. I always get a chuckle when we start discussing getting one more trip in before the snow hits. We're like kids at bedtime

Good time as always! And regarding the nice weather, I’d also like to thank @wi_taco for taking one for the team!

Absolutely zero pics this time. Not even of the Grenadier.

Wait, that’s not true…. Took an inspirational pic, and a totally off topic pic

I had a Firebird of the same vintage. This car looked to be in really good shape...paint was pretty bad though. For all of the 'slightly scratchy' trails my truck hits, it's got fewer scratches and swirls. My guess is that a good polishing could do wonders.

It is that vintage! '78 perhaps?
    '80 perhaps?
