    oh i tried drilling at an angle... because the filter was already deformed.. i really just couldn't get a bit to stick. I ended up having a foot long spade that I shot through the passenger wheel well which is how I got one hole started.

    This tool has saved me when all else failed. Thankfully, I have only had to resort to it once (non Tacoma) and after it had sat in the sealed original packaging for many years. As a tribute of respect, I sprayed it down with brake clean and put it away back in it's original package and spot in the tool box. Everything else I tried had failed: screw driver, cap style, strap style. I've never had to disturb it again as I always did my own oil and filter changes after that.

    The previous person that performed the maintenance must have been King Kong... or maybe Dave Batista?
