    Hi everybody,
So I am going to replace my inner and outer tie rods so far I have just done the passenger side after I installed it I noticed grease oozing out from somewhere. The tie rods are Moog and came with a grease fitting on them. I did add more grease before I installed it now it is oozing Grease. I did tourque them down to correct specs, I am wondering if I over grease them. Truck is still on jackstands have not driven it since installing. I wonder if the new tie rod was already greased and I just added too much or is it a bad one? I have not installed the driver side, one which I already added grease to, and worry that I may end up with the same results. It looks like it’s coming somewhere from the upper boot area. The boot also looks pretty squished.
any help advice or words of wisdom would be much appreciated thank you in advance IMG_3966.jpg

when you grease that, the new grease goes in, and pushed the old stuff out. Just wipe the old grease off, and go.

Normal. Not an issue. Wipe it off and go.

That boot does look squished. I dont have any experience running Moog, but that looks a bit suspect

mmhm that could be true. Think he said it was still on jack stands in that pic, so in theory full droop

Hey guys thanks for your input. I ended up removing the tie rod end and found the boot had come unsealed from the bottom and the grease leaked out. I ended up returning it and getting a new replacement under warranty. Installed both new ones and all looks good. Yes, truck has 2in lift and was still on stands. They are Moogs which come pre-greased but say to give them 2 pumps. So, we’ll see. Thanks again
