OK, going RV camping with a group and have dinner duty for one night. One of the wives (go figure) has to have a gluten free menu. I have a killer recipe for beer simmered brats. I am currently researching a gluten free beer (OK, it's California!) I usually use PBR....any suggestions for another choice I might consider at stores such as BevMo? Or? I think I might like to try a dark beer or IPA? Again, must be gluten free beer for simmering.

    I appreciate the shout out

I am not a beer person [more of a bourbon person] - but I would probably avoid the IPA's because I hate the hoppy flavor and I think it could impart weird on the brats; same with the dark beer, some of those flavors don't cook down well at all
Some sort of Ale or light beer is my go/to when I am doing something like this

I don't know jack about dietary restrictions, we didn't have those when I was a kid
The bodega by my work has a section of GF beers in their cooler case but I never look at it cause

    Good luck!

Yeah. I don’t “cook”. And when I did drink, I drank to get drunk. And I don’t do that any more.

And I’m with you. I don’t know anything about food allergies. The only thing I’m allergic to is poison ivy (urushiol).

I drank to get drunk for a bit in my youth - never actually liked the taste of beer, it was just a means to an end...
I cut that out a long time ago
:hattip: to you for stoppin that too

I slightly react to poison ivy so I just avoid it - I've heard that more exposure = greater risk of more reaction
Other than that, I have some mild seasonal allergies but that's it

I feel like food allergies are often exaggerated these days and this is a dis/service to those who actually have an anaphylactic reaction.

    back to bone stock.
plenty of gluten free beer options. especially for the Brat-jacuzzi where you dont have to drink it. i've seen them at BevMo.

peronally, i would fill the jacuzzi with watered down apple cider.. i feel the hot bath of beer does very little to begin with.
