I am a backcountry hunter, mtn biker, backpacker from NW Wyoming.
I drive on Forest Service roads almost daily from June through October. Some rougher 2 tracks on occasion.

If both my wife and I are successful I may be driving out of the mountains with a payload in excess of 500# including camping gear, coolers, ice, meat/bone/antlers.

I would eventually like to get into overlanding. My wife absolutely would.

The suspension system I have settled on is
    Shocks - 6112 w/650# spring 2" lift clip setting #11/#9 & 5160's 1" lift
    Rear springs - Deaver F85
    Bump Stops - Super Springs SSR - 624 - 40
    Opinions please?

    Question?
Do I need to or should I, replace my upper control arms?

    Thank you for your input

Looks pretty straight-forward. Can't guarantee you won't need aftermarket UCAs, but if the end resulting lift is 2" or under you can usually get away with your stock arms. Downside is you won't know until you go to align it.

I went aftermarket UCAs with my 6112s for a couple of reasons. Finding out they’re needed after the fact would result in tearing back into the front end to change them, then get another alignment with the new arms. Also the 6112s are noticeably larger diameter than the factory springs/shocks. So I thought there could be clearance issues between UCA and springs at full droop. I figured why mess around and take the chance. Some guys do run factory UCA with the 6112s, so maybe the clearance issue was just being cautious. Do you have any armor or aftermarket bumper on the front of your truck? I ask because of the 650# springs at those clip settings might give you more lift than expected without the weight up there.

I've decided to go with aftermarket UCA's right off.

Not yet. It's definitely part of the plan
I see what you're saying. I'm probably going to stick with the 600# spring until I get to that point.
I also realized that circlip setting recommended for 2.2" lift is #10/#8

    Thank you for the input
