Going to visit my local Dynojet soon so what gear should should be used for pulls? I understand there's a speed sensor which will limit 5th(1:1) so use 4th instead?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find the exact answer.:)

If you don't have the the OEM speed limiter removed by tuning or wire mod, then 4th will be better.

Don't believe OTT tune removed speed limiter since they reluctant to raise the rev limiter. Thanks for input!

Well, i had mentioned raising rev limiter twice before the work commenced but nobody said no. It's a little disappointing to discover $550 later. Those graphs in the link are with an auto, right? I can bounce the rev limiter through 1st-2nd no problem with stock exhaust. Catless Y pipe and cat back are on the way, then headers. I believe the limiting factor with the 1gr is the intake manifold. It needs shorter runners and more plenum volume.

1gr has a similar rod ratio to 2jz so 6k shouldn't be an issue with stock valve springs.

Been this road many times with my 85 Supra since the 90s, from a well sorted 5mge NA, one of the 1st 7mgte swaps in 2000, later headwork, a metal HG & ARPs, T61 turbo with supporting mods, a R154 swap and finally a 2jz swap w/ a 76mm. Also have done numerous dyno pulls and 60+ passes at the track. I'd like to think I've got a good feel for what is what.

The 1GR rod regardless of any comparable ratio, are thin and powder cast metal. They are not a fan of the raised rev limiter. 6k-6200 will not take long for them to liberate themselves from the burden of work.

The guys that have built big HP 1GRs aren't running high RPM.
They are running high boot. Upwards of 30 psi.
    And it's not cheap.

The fact is, there much better options.
The only reason anyone is building a 1GR is "because they can".
Not because it's cheap, easy, or better.

    Because they can......
