SS3 Fog lights (Backlight)

Mine come on with parking lights. There really is no point to turning them on during the day. You'll hardly be able to see them even when you're looking for them. Other people won't notice during the day at all.

 

I have a 2022 SR5 Trail edition halogen headlights with the diode dynamics SS3 pro with backlight. I purchased the plug and play harness from them but it doesn't match and of the plugs. Do you have the adapter to make the backlights work? I really don't want to use the t tap. Thank you so much. @daveeasa

The one on the right is park, DRL + turn and ground. The T’s for backlight are color matched.

LED bulbs in halogen projector? That one makes me sad.

 

Perfect thank you. I have horrible eyes at night and did so much research about them and wasn't going to do the led but ended up trying these and at least these ones for my eyes seem better than the stock ones.

I have a 2023 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Off Road with factory LED headlights. I am installing the SS3 Max with backlight fog lights and I’m also installing the SSC2 Pro with backlight ditch lights. Which harnesses do I have to get?

 

The ditch lights will need a harness with switch and relay. Cheapest option there is to buy from the manufacturer and if desired, cut off the switch and use one from ch4x4 or AOB and then tie into switch illumination via one of the harnesses Kyle Morgan designed which are sold by Guild outfitters.

for backlight you would get a driver and passenger led T and then a pair of 12” ss3’s and a pair of 60” ss3’s from the fbc storefront. Or you can back up the 12’s and splice in an extra wire yourself for the ditch lights but most prefer plug and play.

Hi all, sorry to resurrect a thread but I feel like this might be the best place to ask my question. I’ve searched around TW and haven’t found a satisfactory answer yet.

I currently have the DD SS3 fogs with no amber backlight (I’ve had them for a few years). I recently upgraded by OEM halogen headlights to the Morimoto’s with the amber DRLs. I need to get ditch lights soon and I was considering getting the diode dynamics with the amber backlight, and then upgrading my fogs to the version with the amber backlight to match. I want the amber backlight because I hope it would match the amber DRL of the morimotos, and also serve as extra daytime visibility for oncoming drivers.

Does anyone have good front photos of the full truck with the amber backlit DD fogs illuminated? I am hearing half of the people on TW say they look good during the daytime, and the other half saying you can’t even see them during the daylight and that there’s no reason to buy the amber backlit version.

 

backlight max does have (slightly) higher output than standard max. That’s one possible reason to consider the swap.
