No,no,no.. this was back when men were men and there was none of this (pronoun) crap we have now days.

Totally acceptable if we messed up. The good old days.

I remember Rodney i think he was service manager??
ask me to take a truck home overnight to see if it would die on me like the customer stated, then fired me the next day for taking a customer car home.

If i see that guy again,it won't be good i hated that fat piece of shit.

    Lmao.
Thanks, around 2000 2001 ? I think, I was just out of Highschool, I grew up in a home if I thought I was tuff my dad would tell me, (let's go out front on the lawn) ... I'd have to prove how tuff I was. I learned all my lessons the hard way. Looking back
99% of my ass kickings I deserved 10000%

Put it this way.... I got my ass beat with all my soccer trophy's because I failed PE in Highschool....... let that sink in. Lol.

When my son acts stupid I take him to the neighbors house and he chops the all the Oak and stacks it while I watch and drink a beer. I'm raising a man!!! This country needs to wake up. He's hate it now but later he'll understand, as I do with my childhood.

    Disagree or don't, it's ok I don't care. Lol

They do end up back on dealer lots. Usually CPO's, but the lemon law is disclosed to the customer. I wouldn't buy one.

You have no idea, there’s so many of them…
We had a customer storage lot, which was on an upper level…
Back in the day, Ide say, let’s say not so stable crazy mechanic that grabbed another mechanic by the ankles, literally, and hung them over the side…
    From the second story…
There’s literally hundreds of them, I don’t remember this morning little alone, 30 years ago…
Another time to mechanics were arguing, and one of the mechanics literally dumped 50 gallons of waste transmission fluid on the floor in this other guys stall…
One of my service managers totaled a customers, Gt-40…
Technician was about to go on a road test and Bitchin. Rob the manager who was running his mouth telling the tech he wasn’t qualified to drive the car. Rob road tested with the tech,
was sitting in a light and when it turned green, let’s say he hot footed it, lost control, wrapped it around a pole, right in front of a cop.
    Vehicle was a total loss.
    explain that to a customer….
Between all of us, old timers, there’s thousands of dumb fucking stories and experiences…
    I am only 52…

I already posted about that, but yes, we are hijacking the thread!
I spoke to him on the phone the other day, Toyota is buying it back. It was approved!
When we spoke, he was getting his paperwork in order that he needed to provide them with. They will schedule a transfer and he’ll get a check the same day right in the spot,
    Probably take another three weeks.

I remember I did a intake manifold recall on a 4.6l V8 mustang and Bubba did the test drive and pulled 2nd gear got the rear loose and ( brushed) the wall on the 8 and freeway and brought it back to the 2nd story lot and parked it , told me not to say shit. ...

If I was wearing a hat, I'd take it off right now. Well done. I didn't quite get the ass beatings but I got the discipline in general when I screwed up. My sister (2.5 yrs younger) didn't quite get those lessons and it shows, shall we say.

I'm not a parent but I've long said it's for the best. I'd be dead as soon as they figured out how to kill me in my sleep because I wouldn't put up with any guff.

What band is that in the picture?

I'm digging the stories. I never worked in the field but my friends and I pulled shit like this all the time on each other.

I was the oldest so I got the worst of it, well worth it though, I deserved every bit of it
People say I'm an old soul. Teach the children well because they are our future.
I show my son old John wayne and Randolph Scott,Clint Eastwood movies. I make sure he hears Johnny Cash and Hank Sr music. Old lightning hopkins, muddy waters blue's. Back when you needed talent to make music, not the pop country and garbage that's on the radio now.

I Have guitars, we shoot guns. If he wants to shoot a dove,he knows he's cleaning it and cooking it.

He learns nothing is givin to you for free. You earn it, you earn respect, you make your name and your word stonger than any contract out there.

The band in the background was. The Steel Woods are an American country music group.[1] from Nashville, Tennessee
First time I've seen them that night.
I saw them at the Ramona Mainstage about 5 Miles from my house.... I'd definitely see them again next time they are here.

Hijack away!! Love the stories and love my revolvers!

So now it's a waiting game. I'm thinking that the next step would be making me an offer. This is all between myself and Toyota corp. Dealer not involved yet. I know they want to roll me into another 24 Tacoma. I'm now pretty gun shy about it looking at my options. If Toyota settles with me and makes me whole again it's time to start over. I've been thinking either a 2023 Tacoma with low mileage, which would save me about 10k from what I have seen out there so far or maybe the 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro4X. It have a 310 hp NON TURBO motor and a 9 speed transmission. I'm doing some research on it now. If I do decide to accept a new 24 Tacoma it would have to be with an extended warranty.... any thought?

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Drive a Nissan, see what you think? Talk to the dealer and ask them how they would handle this situation if it were in their lap?

I’m not a fan of the 3rd gen just because I can’t reach the steering wheel with my long legs also being comfortable and the trans gearing makes 6th almost unusable. If those aren’t issues for you then 100% I’d say 3rd gen. It’s a step back in comfort & power but it will be more reliable than a 1st or 2nd year model. Dunno about Nissan, I don’t like them in general.

Zero chance I’d get another 4th if I was you & had your experience. I had a bad experience with the new Tundra and I’ll never buy another of this generation of them. I’d rather buy a Ford or RAM over another 3rd gen Tundra pos.

All just IMO. I’m glad you’re getting taken care of.
