I got my wife a new 2023 rav4 last year. She has 3500 miles on it now and has 2 big door dings and somehow has a dent on her roof.... She too cant explain how they happened. Yet my truck is 6 years and 55k miles in with less damage.

My wife has never driven my truck. Fortunately, she's kinda scared of it. If she can smoke curbs in her tiny Corolla, I'd hate to see what kind of damage she'd put on a longer vehicle.

That is hilarious. Sorry for damage, and the frustration, but that is a funny story.

My wife had to drive my truck while I got her Elantra serviced...she did not like the "skewp" initially.

She's never been a comfortable/confident driver considering she grew up in England; where she didn't learned to drive!

It wasn't until we got reassigned stateside that an American friend taught her while I was TDY to PSAB in 1996.

I recently acquired a nice huge scratch in the middle of my tailgate thanks to my wife lol, all of the damage on my truck is either trail or wife related. The most recent time she accidentally smashed our metal dog ramp right into my tailgate :D

My wife drove a Bronco I had at one time. She said it was smoking and smelled like it was going to blow up. She left it at a dealer. I went to look at it and as soon as I got near it I knew what happened. She drove it with the parking brake on. I asked her if she noticed the light in the dash. She's now afraid to drive any of my vehicles. Fine with me and she has her own excellent suv. Problem is she's never looked at the owners manual. She said the radio was terrible. I changed the tone settings and she said it was great now. I asked her if she knew the tone quality could be adjusted. No comment.

Backing into a low hanging tree maybe? “I wondered what that resistance was when I was parking.”

Its above the rear door on the roof beam... so like not a place thats easy to dent, its straight up structural component of the roof.

    Ugh!

Teens are just as bad; well worse because it's not just them but the other teens running into them.
My son came home from school one day and I asked, "Are you upset about the big dent in your quarter panel?". He said, "What dent?" I showed him on the driver's side. It was actually from the snowplow overnight (the driver called me so I knew) yet my son never noticed the dent after driving it 3 times. We decided not to fix it as it was an older car being driven to a high school (HS parking lots are scary places reminiscent of a demolition derby) and we had another teen coming up learning to drive. Stuff just breaks when kids drive the cars.

Of course the people are more important than the vehicles. But I do think it's okay to take care of things.

My wife once told me she backed into the garage door as it was going up but not completely up. She said she ripped the 'coat hanger' off. She was referring to the rear washer fluid nozzle on the top of the minivan liftgate that she thought was put there to hold coat hangers...

    Yeah.
LOL. My wife did the same although it just scraped the paint and bowed the garage door a little. I asked her, "So, you start your vehicle and THEN open the door?" She answered, "Yeah, I don't want to get abducted or something while getting in my car." I mean, really? I told her that under no circumstances should you be running your vehicle in an enclosed space. SMH.

Oh, and the time she called me when the "butt light" on the dash was on. You can probably guess what that was.

EDIT: Oh, and this just this week: She was leaving to take our old little dog to the groomer on Wednesday. Her car wouldn't start so she took our daughter's Corolla. This weekend I did an oil change, new air filter and wipers, topped off all fluids, and topped off the battery (she doesn't drive it enough). The problem? She either forgot how to start it (press on the brake, push the button) or wasn't pressing on the brake hard enough.

In her defense, she's going through a lot right now and is a bit scatter-brained.

Look good, and it doesn't look like drilling holes was required. Where did you get the kit?
