There is not much need of the rear locker if you are spinning and sliding. 4wd + ATRAC/mts is plenty in those situations. I use the locker to prevent wheel spin. It’s very situational. But anyway don’t worry about damaging your diff unless you are being an idiot.

I think ATRAC/MTS is often under appreciated.

    key word straight...

Also lock your diff and go around a tight bend after it just rained... let me know how that works out.

Lots of safety rules are not about the normal times, they are about the "except when" times that things get dicy.

Your not going to hurt anything with the rear locked on a slippery surface

i have. hundreds if not thousands of times. daily drove a locked diff for nearly 10 years. including 6 months canadian winters. nothing happens. your not getting my point that when your up too speed you arent actually turning that sharp. the tire speeds are barely differentiating even around bends. that difference can pretty much be made up with the flex in the tire/lugs itself. its going slow where your more likely to break traction.

I can tell you, I’ve done it a bunch of times in the T100, it’s completely fine, sometimes the truck goes side ways and you counter steer but other times it’s just mild spin and nothing to crazy, mind you also this isn’t a welded diff so I’m not going to be driving around with my tires hoping and skipping all the time. It’s just so if I want to have some fun in the mud or snow I can.
